MM: Can you share a bit more about your role in “Oh, Canada!”? How did you prepare for your role?
CG: I was the matriarch of a family. I am a huge fan of Paul Schrader so I was happy to rewatch all his movies and really analyze the fine details.
MM: What was your most memorable moment from being on set for “Oh, Canada!”?
CG: Being directed by Paul Schrader was unbelievable. It was such an honor to work with such an incredible director.
MM: As a fashion icon, how do you describe your personal style and what influences your style most?
CG: My style is classic and timeless with a twist, never swayed by fleeting trends. I am inspired by culture and my travels. I know what looks good on me and I tend to stick with that.
MM: What inspired you to have a cruelty- free lifestyle? How has it shaped your daily life and career choices?
CG: Animals bring so much joy, companionship, and love into our lives, yet they are often subject to neglect, cruelty, and exploitation by humans. It’s not just about being kind to animals—it’s about recognizing their inherent value and treating them with the respect and compassion they deserve. I actively share information on social media and donate resources to shelters and rescues. In 2016 I founded Artemis Farm Rescue for miniature horses and donkeys. In 2009 I founded Cornelia Guest Events where I don’t serve veal and we are constantly sourcing foods that have the least impact on animals and the environment. My handbag line was cruelty-free. I am a board member for the Humane Society of New York. My entire life revolves around animal advocacy.
MM: Are you planning on attending any fashion weeks? If so, what shows are you most excited for?
CG: If I have the opportunity to attend London or Paris Fashion Weeks I’ll be there. In New York my favorites are Oscar De La Renta, Carolina Herrera and Naeem Khan.
MM: Do you have any upcoming products you’re looking forward to in the coming months?
CG: We have some things in the work but it’s hush hush for now.
