Liev Schreiber was honored with the Hamptons International Film Festival’s 2024 ‘Dick Cavett Artistic Champion Award’ at ‘A Conversation With’, moderated by Alec Baldwin.
This award honors those in the creative arts who not only excel in their field, but who also support the arts and artists in other fields, that include humanitarianism, education, and related media.
Schreiber is most known for his roles in The Manchurian Candidate, Deadpool & Wolverine, Golda, Isle Of Dogs, Spider Man: Into The Spiderverse, Chuck which he aco-produced and co-wrote and SPOTLIGHT, which won the Oscar® for Best Picture, the Golden Globe® for Best Motion Picture Drama, and the Independent Spirit Award® for Best Picture.
On the small screen, Schreiber starred in Showtime ’s critically-acclaimed hit series Ray Donovan for seven seasons, garnering him five Golden Globe® Award nominations and three Primetime Emmy® nominations.
On broadway, Schreiber played Ricky Roma in the 2005 revival of David Mamet’s Glengarry Glen Ross earning him his first Tony Award®. His performances in the Broadway revivals of A View from the Bridge; Talk Radio; and Doubt: A Parable, each earned him a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.
Liev can currently be seen starring with NicoleKidman in Netflix ’s The Perfect Couple and will soon be seen in the war drama ACROSS THE RIVER AND INTO THE TREES.
Schrieber’s Jewish Ukrainian grandfather was a huge influence on him which led to his directorial debut with ‘EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED’, a story that follows a young American Jewish man to western Ukraine to find the woman who saved his grandfather during the Holocaust.
Schreiber went on to co-found Blue Check Ukraine, an organization that identifies vets, and administers urgent financial support to the people of Ukraine since the Russian invasion of the country in 2022. Schreiber also works closely with President Volodymyr Zelensky as an ambassador for United24.Media an initiative the Ukrainian president launched to raise funds for the war-torn country.
