On-Air Personality Sips her Way to Success in the Wine Industry
Kavita Channe lives by the motto of “Dream It, Do It.” It’s this motto that’s led to the London native’s career in broadcast journalism as a reporter for the NFL and NHL, success as a children’s book author, hosting roles in reality television, owner of a marketing firm and a flourishing entrepreneurial career in health and wellness. Now Channe is channeling her passion for wine into a new venture prompted by her own ventures to the South of France.
All it took was a trip to Provence, France in 2016 for Channe to become a fast fan of the region’s dry and smooth French rosé offerings. Coupled with a beautiful copper hue and fruity hints in each sip, the broadcast journalist was hooked from the first sip. Upon returning home to the US, Channe was disheartened to find that she couldn’t find a glass of rosé that compared to what she found in Provence. So, what did she do? She took matters into her own hands, flew back to France, met with over 100 winemakers and then launched Sip Channé.
“I fell in love with the beauty of the region and its rosé culture, where wine is a celebration of life. When I returned home, I couldn’t find anything that matched the quality and experience I had in France. So, I set out to create it myself—a wine that’s elegant, pure, and crafted for people who value wellness and connection.”

A big wellness enthusiast, Channe is very mindful of what she puts in her body, so she’s extremely hands-on in making sure her wines are made to that standard as well. “I believe that what we put in and on our bodies matters, and I strive to make choices that align with my values.” She notes that this is something she applies to the wine making process as well. “At Sip Channe, our wines are crafted with no sugar, low sulfites, and no unnecessary additives. They’re produced at a family-owned winery just outside St. Tropez, using 40-60+ year-old vines that create complex, unique flavor profiles. It’s not just wine—it’s a healthier, sustainable, and joyful way to sip and celebrate life.” This healthier option has been met with great applause from fans of the brand. Her customers, many of them mothers with early mornings, are happy to report happier mornings after a night of sipping on the lesser-sulfite rose. Channe says she’s gotten countless messages from customers telling her they don’t have hangovers like they do with other wines.
Not only is Channe garnering praise from customers, but Sip Channe is gaining recognition in the industry too. It was awarded a silver medal at the prestigious Concours Général Agricole in Cannes. A widely respected competition held by the Department of Agriculture in France, Sip Channe was one of the 334 wines chosen from more than 16,000 entries as a selection. Channe is very proud of this. In an interview with Forbes, spoke about the accomplishment.“It is truly one of the most prestigious and sought-after wine award competitions in the world. When you win this award it’s solely based on your wine. So when our shipment arrived and I opened the first case and saw the beautiful medal on every bottle, I almost fell off my chair! And in this particular year, I insisted on mixing two different blends together which became the winner. This was extremely exciting for us all and made me feel so good about all the work we had done in creating the perfect rosé.”
While Channe is happy with all the success her brand has had so far, this doesn’t mean the journalist-entrepreneur-wellness enthusiast isn’t about to start sitting back and sipping to her successes. This dreamer and doer is always looking towards the future. “For Sip Channe, I’m excited to expand into new markets and launch some exciting new products. We’re also growing our wine club to bring our community even closer. Personally, my goal is to stay present, prioritize self-care, and spend more time with family and friends. Growth is important, but so is enjoying the journey!”
When she’s not busy building her empire, the mother to two young children prioritizes health and wellness in her life. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she’s a big fitness enthusiast who credits weight training, pilates, walking, and hot yoga to keep her grounded and energized. While she focuses on eating healthy, when she’s in New York City, Channe cannot resist the urge to sample a classic city slice. “New York City is one of my favorite places to indulge in the simple pleasures. I always have to have a slice of pizza from a classic NYC pizzeria. I’m not picky – if it looks good in the window, I’m buying it. There’s something about that perfect combination of crispy crust, savory sauce, and melted mozzarella that just hits the spot.”
From sideline reporting, slices of pizza and Sip Channe, Kavita Channé proves how to dream it and do it one success at a time. We’ll sip to that!
