The Concern Foundation Roars Once More, Raising Over $2.75 Million For Cancer Research

More than 4,000 guests descended on the iconic Paramount Pictures backlot as the Concern Foundation transformed the storied studio into a safari-inspired playground for its 51st Annual Block Party. The theme, Concern on Safari: Lions, Tigers & Cures, set the stage for an unforgettable evening that blended gourmet dining, live entertainment, and philanthropy, ultimately raising a record-shattering $2.75 million for cancer research, the largest fundraising total in the organization’s 58-year history.

The milestone surpassed last year’s record-breaking event and reaffirmed the Block Party’s status as one of Los Angeles’ most anticipated charitable gatherings.

The evening also celebrated one of the organization’s driving forces. Concern Foundation Co-Founder and Board Chair Jackie Gottlieb received the Steve R. Freed Spirit of Concern Volunteer Leadership Award, recognizing decades of dedication and leadership that have helped shape the foundation into one of Southern California’s most impactful supporters of emerging cancer research.

Guests spent the evening roaming the Paramount backlot, sampling bites from more than 70 of Southern California’s standout restaurants alongside pours from an impressive lineup of wineries, breweries, distilleries, and premium spirit brands. Culinary favorites including Girl & the Goat LA, STK Steakhouse, Fogo de Chão, Uchi West Hollywood, Vibrato Grill and Jazz, Pink’s Famous Hot Dogs, Paradise Dynasty, and dozens more kept crowds fueled, while decadent desserts and craft coffee rounded out the experience.

Beyond the food, the night delivered plenty of Hollywood-worthy entertainment. Live music filled three stages throughout the venue as casino gaming, luxury spa experiences, beauty makeovers, immersive photo activations, and highly anticipated silent and live auctions kept guests exploring every corner of the sprawling backlot.

The event also drew an impressive mix of philanthropists, community leaders, business executives, and hospitality partners, reinforcing the Block Party’s reputation as one of Los Angeles’ signature philanthropic celebrations.

But the biggest headline of the night wasn’t the safari theme or the star-studded setting. It was the impact.

Every dollar raised supports promising early-career scientists conducting groundbreaking research in immunology, immunotherapy, genetics, and cell biology, helping accelerate discoveries that could redefine the future of cancer treatment.

After more than five decades, the Concern Foundation continues to prove that when Los Angeles comes together around a shared cause, generosity can be just as powerful as innovation. And with a historic $2.75 million raised in a single evening, this year’s Block Party wasn’t just a celebration. It was another major step toward a future where cancer has nowhere left to roam.
