This beautiful resort has continued to evolve while being a family-run property for more than 400 years and is today one of the most sought-after five-star resort destinations in Europe. With 170 rooms and suites along with world-class amenities, an unmatched level of personal service, elevated luxury amenities, and activities for every season, Stanglwirt is excited to welcome new guests and long-time regulars during the upcoming seasons.

Rooms and suites range from family suites with a separate room for children to an unforgettable honeymoon suite along with standard rooms that provide exceptional levels of comfort, and all feature locally sourced materials such as the Arolla pine that truly reflects the authentic expression of this beautiful area positioned in the heart of the Tyrolean region.

Dining at Stanglwirt is a celebrated event—whether it is the extensive breakfast buffet with organic products from the hotel’s own farm as well as a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian products, a culinary exploration of the senses with a multi-course meal with friends and family, or a drink to toast another amazing day in Austria with your partner. Thanks to the 160-acre farm that is a large part of the soul of Stanglwirt, guests enjoy uber-local with the beef, vegetables, cheese, milk, yogurt, bread, and more all sourced and prepared on-property.

From world-class skiing at Kitzbühel Streif just a few minutes from the resort and cross-country skiing just outside your door during the snowy months to numerous local golf courses in the area with an on-property golf school and pristine hiking trails for hiking and mountain biking and with views that extend for miles during the warmer months, Stanglwirt has indoor and outdoor activities and sport options throughout the entire year. These unique localized experiences paired with the fitness, spa, and wellness opportunities guarantee that you will never be short of active pursuits in Tyrol. Austria’s first private Lipizzaner stud and riding school as well as a children’s farm round off the varied range of amenities for all generations.

The hotel is also one of Europe’s leading Tennis Resorts that has been offering tennis camps of the highest standard for over 40 years, partnering with the internationally renowned Peter Burwash International Tennis School (PBI), whose experts focus on everything from tactics to mental coaching to improve the game of every individual guest.

Regardless of the season, the legendary spa and wellness offerings are beyond compare. An extensive 130,000-square-foot spa and wellness area includes five saunas and three steam baths, plus Water World, which includes the largest saltwater pool in Europe and an exciting kid’s pool that features a movie theater that’s enjoyed from the pool and a thrilling slide.

The impressive list of massages, facials, and body treatments is further enjoyed with access to either the adult-only wellness area or the family-friendly space. Another unique element to the spa and wellness area is that it’s powered by an innovative heat pump that uses the energy of the local mountain water, maintaining a dedication to evolve with the times while embracing sustainability. Exclusive treatments and products by Dr. Barbara Sturm are also available at the spa with services being provided by her personal team that continue to receive the Hollywood recognition around the world with her specialized applications that put an emphasis on skin rejuvenation, tightening, and cell regeneration to help clients age gracefully.

The Green Spa Resort has been a pioneer in sustainable tourism since the 1980’s when Balthasar Hauser set up a hotel on the site of his parents’ farm that was based on the principles of buildings biology, including a then highly innovative biomass heating system. The hotel meets the highest sustainability standards and ensures that this is met throughout – for example, no steel girders are used in the ceilings but only wooden beams, all wooden bricks are bonded using lime mortar instead of cement and room fittings include exclusively solid-wood furniture, antibacterial floors made of local mountain larch and organic straw-filled couches. All the mattresses are specially manufactured and consist of 95% natural rubber, cotton, sheep’s wool, and horsehair.

The hotel’s green activities also include conscientiously separating waste and using organic materials for daily cleaning. In 2016 Balthasar Hauser was recognized as a “Leader of Sustainability” at the internationally renowned Global Wellness Summit. He was also awarded the title “Green Visionary” by Arnold Schwarznegger at the Climate Summit in Vienna.
