“Pixi” magic steeped to perfection at the London West Hollywood

While luxury hotels around Los Angeles offer high-tea service with premium tea beverages and artisanal sweets and savory bites, the London West Hollywood consistently generates a buzz for its weekend teas with themed, fanciful twists that deliver something more than scones (though those are always offered, and consistently delicious).

Pixi Beauty Afternoon Tea Experience

This summer, the social media-friendly Pixi Beauty generated a buzz with its “Pixi Beauty Afternoon Tea Experience”, a playful pairing of beauty, flavor, and a touch of glam. The indoor garden party in the Sitting Room (adjacent to the London Bar) has generated such a buzz that it has been extended through September 28, 2025, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm Saturdays and Sundays. Naturally, reservations are required for this glowing spin on high tea. Moving forward, the London West Hollywood’s tea experience will take on new themes, including a fall tea based on the second “Wicked” film, based on the success of last year’s outing.

The on-brand afternoon starts with a “Pixi Glow Bar,” where a Pixi makeup artist offers quick touch-ups, “On-The-Glow BASE” matching, and TikTok-ready “before & after” looks. Once one enters the Sitting Room, she (or he) is greeted with pastels, botanical artwork, and glamorous views of Hollywood and the Hollywood Hills. The afternoon culminates with a Pixi goodie bag to take home and free parking for up to two hours.

The impressive presentation features savory tea sandwiches including English cucumber, lemon, and watercress; a summer roll with vegetables and citrus; sweet crab with avocado on toast; a beet-cured salmon and herb lavash, and roast beef with horseradish cream on a roll.

The aforementioned current and plain scones are accompanied by fruit preserves, vanilla Chantilly cream, and lemon curd. Desserts include slices of rosewater Battenburg; Madagascar grand cru chocolate cake, shortbread cookies; green match tiramisu, and a peach melba tart with a raspberry meringue kiss. Warm and cool teas are sourced from the Rare Tea Company, including choices like Royal Air Force English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Lemon Verbena, and others.

There are also luscious add-ons for a supplementary fee, including a glass of Moet & Chandon, a serving of Swedish Princess Cake (a nod to London-based Pixi founder Petra Strand’s heritage). However, should you want something even more indulgent, a Rooftop Pixi Cabana on The London’s rooftop pool deck with extras such as Pixi Glow mists, a Pixi Glow tote with skincare goodies, a curated cocktail menu with special Pixietini and Glowtini libations, and lounge seating overlooking the Hollywood and downtown skyline. Pricing varies by cabana and date/time (summer weekends range from $650 to $1,500 depending on size and timing) with reservation via concierge or thelondonwesthollywood.com.
