Banyan Tree Samui amplifies sound therapy classes for guests.
International Sound Therapist Svetlana Kaivalya brings her transformative talents to Banyan Tree Samui on Nov. 8 for a New Moon Sound Healing Ceremony, adding an extra dimension to the resort’s existing classes and wellbeing philosophy.
The Power of Sound
Sound therapy is one of humanity’s oldest tools for restoration. From Siberian overtone traditions to Himalayan singing bowls, cultures have long used vibrations to invite the body into deep rest. Modern sound healing builds on this wisdom with a holistic understanding of how sound influences brain waves, the parasympathetic nervous system and the vagus nerve.
Svetlana’s approach bridges traditional wisdom with contemporary understanding of sound, relaxation and nervous-system regulation. Her sessions incorporate gongs, Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, voice, and other therapeutic instruments to support deep relaxation, inner awareness and emotional wellbeing.
Svetlana Kaivalya is an international Sound Therapy educator and practitioner with more than a decade of experience in holistic wellness. Based in Koh Samui, her institute SHANTIKA facilitates professional training, retreats and immersive experiences across Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Sri Lanka and Europe, in collaboration with luxury hospitality destinations.
“I would like to introduce a concept, A Ritual for New Beginnings, which feels beautifully aligned with the New Moon on November 8th,” said Svetlana. “I’m looking forward to creating a meaningful and immersive Sound Healing experience for Banyan Tree Samui guests and the local wellness community.”
Within the one-hour outdoor session, from 6pm to 7pm on Nov. 8, Svetlana said she will integrate therapeutic sound, meditation, breathwork, Reiki, aquatic bodywork and nervous-system-informed practices to create deeply restorative experiences for the participants.
“Sound reminds us how to listen — to ourselves, to each other, to nature,” said Svetlana.
In addition to the New Moon Sound Ritual Ceremony on Nov. 8, Banyan Tree Samui conducts Sound Bath Meditation classes twice per week exclusively for guests.
