On January 10th, 2024,the Thrive Causemetics team celebrated their new launch of Sheer Strength Lip Plumping Peptide Gloss and hosted a Self-Defense Class taught by Nonprofit Giving Partner Peace Over Violence.
Peace Over Violence is a nonprofit 501c3, multicultural, community-based, and volunteer-centered organization dedicated to building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence. To achieve this mission, our agency manages five departments delivering the services of Emergency, Intervention, Prevention, Education, and Advocacy.
The event began with an introductory speech from Karissa Bodnar where she invited the TransLatin@ Coalition members to join her and speak on the importance of violence and learning self-defense to protect yourself. Following this moment, the self-defense class started. Event attendees took part in an hour-long training course where professionally trained personnel taught a variation of safety moves. The training began with the demonstrations and ended with participants performing a series of self-defense exercises they learned.
