Out & About During The Sundance Film Festival 2018


The iconic Sundance Film Festival encompasses a myriad of movies their screenings and red carpets. However in and around the festival these films hold events and many others flock to the area to platform & promote, much to the pleasure of many VIPs & celebrities.

The Jet Smarter Music in Film Summit at Park City Live on Main St., Park City presented by Juul hosted star-studded panels of the most talked about films in the Sundance Film Festival. From Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood’s fireside chat about their upcoming thriller Mandy, to a unique sneak peek at the Black Eyed Peas graphic novel Masters of the Sun, the music in film summit was the hub for movie and music heavyweights. Legendary director Kevin Kerslake, and producer Carianne Brinkman of the Joan Jett documentary Bad Reputation discussed their inspiration and passion behind their music project. Music royalty, Paris Jackson showed her support for best friend and activist Caroline D’Amore, who captured the crowd with an inspiring Women and the Power of Change discussion.  Award-winning actress Meagan Good and Insecure star Jay Ellis discussed their latest film A Boy. A Girl. A Dream. and were overheard lauding the unique Enso rings and awesome Nomatic travel bags they were gifted.

The summit also included a gut-wrenching and heartfelt discussion around Believer, the documentary examining relationship between religion and the LGBT community featuring Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons, Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees and producer Heather Parry. Following their panel discussion, Millennium Magazine spoke to Reynolds about his passion and commitment of supporting the LGBT’s integration into the Mormon faith. The group was spotted in the Smashmallow “Smash & Sip” café where they enjoyed the delish hot cocoa and snacks from Creminelli Fine Meats. Park City Live on Main Street was definitely as always one of the main centers of attention during the epic festival.

The Associated Press once again headquartered at the iconic MUSIC LODGE owned and operated by Lisa Precious / P3Precious Productions during the Sundance Film Festival 2018. For the Lodge’s 14th year on Main St and its 11th year with AP, the premiere destination attracted top film casts and celebrities to gather for photos, interviews and brand awareness.

Spyder, one of the world’s most recognizable outdoor sportswear brands, added to the awesome experience with both their yummy Hot Chocolate Bar, while keeping the celebs that included Jack Black, TerryCrews his wife Rebecca King Crews and Joel Mchale stylish both on and off the slopes with their stylish Spyder ski jackets.

JetSuiteX, a semi-private CA-based airline had an on-site check-in counter where they gifted vouchers for future travel to destinations including Burbank, Oakland, Las Vegas and Mammoth while also donating seats to Angel Flight West an in-flight ambulance service.

The visiting talent also enjoyed doTERRA aromatherapy to help them during their busy schedule with a variety of customized essential oils for their needs. IconicReach, introduced people to their Instagram influencer marketing platform as Two Gypsea Souls gifted music-themed apparel. My/Mo Mochi, a delicious cold treat enjoyed as a bite-sized ice cream wrapped in a sweet rice dough was a cool fresh pick me up.

Music Lodge Live! a live performance series held daily. This year actress/singer, Chaley Rose, of ABC TV’s Nashville took the stage as did other performers throughout the series that included: American Idol winner Sam Woolf and Jesse Dayton, Code Black, Chelsea Williams, Ginger Shankar and 13-year-old performer Evie Clair from America’s Got Talent.

Amanda Cerny Social Media influencer spoke about the importance of Shelf Expression & Shaming, on the panel of the Safe Health + Sex Summit Presented by Teen Vogue with sponsors SAFESPACE, BeSafe, WinkyLux, Lyft, Trojan support at Park City Live during the Sundance Film Festival.

Kia Motors and A-list Communications Pop-Up hosted a plethora of Sundance Film Festival parties and dinners at the Mustang Restaurant on Main in Park City, as well as daytime media interviews of top talent with Collider.com  while the Kia Stinger and new all-wheel fastback sports sedan was turning heads around town as the festival’s official VIP ride.

Celebrities that attended the events and/or were transported in Kias included: Taboo & will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas/Masters of the Sun),  Josh Duhamel (Unsolved), Jimmi Simpson (Unsolved), Peter Dinklage & Elle Fanning (I Think We’re Alone Now), Nicolas Cage (Mandy), Dan Reynolds (Believer), Kiersey Clemons  & Nick Offerman (Hearts Beat Loud, White Fang), Joel McHale (Futile and Stupid Gesture), Rory Culkin (Lords of Chaos), Robert Pattinson (Damsel),  and Ellen Burstyn (The Tale).

The Creative Coalition, a non-profit organization, once again hosted their annual Spotlight Initiatives Gala dinner at the Kia Supper Suite honoring Chloë Grace Moretz (The Miseducation of Cameron Post) w/ fellow honoree Haley Joel Osment (Clara’s Ghost), Denis O’Hare (Lizzie) and Christine Vachon (producer, Carol, Colette).

Helping to elevate the culinary experience was Kunde Family Winery, serving up wine pairings for the dinners and cocktail receptions with their 2013 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma Valley), 2013 Reserve Century Vines Zinfandel (Sonoma Valley), 2015 Sonoma Valley Chardonnay (Sonoma Valley), and 2016 Magnolia Lane Sauvignon Blanc (Sonoma Valley). Additionally, annual sponsor MillerCoors offered their Blue Moon Belgian White, a Belgian-style witbier, as the beer of choice for guests while Topo Chico Mineral Water, Mexico’s best kept secret, was a favored beverage of choice for dehydrated festival VIPs.

Joining the program this year was Altec Lansing, innovator in audio (who  gifted speakers and headphones to celebs), as the official audio sponsor of Kia Supper Suite, featuring their state of the art Bluetooth PA speakers at all events.

VIPs stopped by the Rock and Reilly Daytime Lounge during the Film Festival to get out of the cold & snow enjoying the treats. Celebrities that included Chris Elliot and his daughters, actors Bridey Elliott & AbbyElliott were at the Be Glammed Now pop-up to prep for their Nylon Magazine interviews along w/ Actors Tim Daly, son, Sam Daly, Anthony Ramos and Jasmine Cephas Jones who also received J Crew customized denim and a Roku Player.

Producer Debbie Durkin brought out the stars at the 11th annual Ecoluxe Lounge during the Sundance Film Festival that included TV personality Audrina Patridge showing off LivandB.com Designs. Jason Ritter of  HBO’s The Tale taking refuge from the snow, Bellamy Young of ABC’s Scandal who signed a Blendtec Blender for Brave New Voices Charity,  Corey Feldman in a baby blue suit and Dawson Creek’s Sasha Alexander. All enjoyed the awesome R and R BBQ, Titos Vodka Cocktails, Utah’s own spirits, Outlaw Distillery, Modern Oats and Red Bull.

The Macro Lodge supported by Just Film/Ford Foundation on Main Street, Park City sponsored by Shea Moisture hosted a whole host of events during the Sundance 2018 that included UCI Storytelling Unbound, Sorry To Bother You film panel discussion, Transform The Story/ celebrating leaders of color in the film industry, Special Screening of Common’s Hope & Redemption and Leimert Park’s Black Girl Magic.

The Louisiana Film Festival bash in full party mode rocked the streets of Sundance. The revelers put on a musical celebration outside and inside PCLive on Main Street, Park City. Ben Dickey, star of Blaze and Serabee entertained while guests drank specialty spirits and ate Louisiana Cuisine that included Shrimp Remoulade as actor/director Ethan Hawke received a creative award from the state of Louisiana.

The Acura Lounge located at the base of Main St, Park City was a welcome respite for the cold and weather worn festival goers where they could enjoy the lounge’s NSX Gallery an immersive, multi screen, augmented reality, 360 degree visual installation by photographer Ruben Wu.
