ABOVE IT ALL: Aliz Hotel Times Square

Millennium Magazine Get’s Big City Experience at Aliz Hotel Times Square

With the highest rooftop bar in New York City, it’s easy see why the Aliz Hotel Times Square tops the list for rendezvouses in the sky. The view from Dear Irving on Hudson on the 40th and 41st floors will probably be the most memorable of all at the 40th Street hotel. It is the highest open-air hotel bar & lounge in all of Manhattan. The space offers sweeping 360-degree views of the skyline with impressive views of rising developments at Hudson Yards. The bar & lounge is complemented by a James Bond-inspired interior decor and is the perfect spot for evening cocktails.

At nearly 2 am during our stay, there was a sudden thirst for drinks and our party ventured to the rooftop bar. It was closing time and the hostess said the bartender had just made last call. We went in any way and got a glimpse of the view. Spectacular! Sighting the bartender wiping down the bar, we decided to take a shot and ask if we could still order drinks. The bartender was kind enough to oblige and served up a Tequila Sunrise, Fuzzy Navel and spicy Margarita with light salt.

Throughout the stay the Aliz staff was very accommodating. From the moment you check-in the concierge is welcoming and ready to make your stay as comfortable as possible. From little things, like security pushing the elevator button upon your arrival, to the bell hop asking if you need to store luggage or to hail a cab, you won’t go unnoticed here.

Besides being so close to Broadway theaters, tourist attractions, good cheap eats retail shopping and rapid transit, The Aliz is a haven of Instagram backdrops for chronic selfie takers. What better way than to share with the world that, ‘Hey! I’m in New York City’ right in the thick of it all. Aliz was named one of the top 15 Hotels in New York City by Travel+Leisure Magazine within the first year of opening, this is the place to be.

The hotel rooms are contemporary, stylish and sophisticated at this chic boutique hotel. Smaller than the average hotel room, space could be a bit tight for two people between the wall and bed, or the bath, but it is very functional for guests who likely will spend more time sightseeing the big city. The bathroom is well lid and features matching white marble floors and walls. Light switches at the entrance and beside the bed allows you to create multiple moods from above and nightstand lighting. Hotel room views show you all of Lower Manhattan, Hudson Yards, Jersey City and even the Statue of Liberty far off in the distance. No matter why you’re visiting NYC, Aliz also offers an inviting pied-a-terre for work or play.
