Perk Up Your Winter With These Sweet and Savory Beauty Ideas

Beauty writers and influencers didn’t just have a full calendar of events the first couple weeks of February. That would have been fine enough, but instead, our calendars were on fire.  It seemed as though everyone wanted us to be two or more places at once, but since we don’t have personal holograms just yet, we had some difficult choices to make. Mini-facials with a celebrity aesthetician, a new product launch from a favorite haircare brand, and deep relaxation in a salt cave won our favor. We’re confident we made the right choices, as great products and experiences were had by all.

Without further babbling, here are some of the products and advice from wellness experts that need to be on your radar or vanity as head into the last stretch of winter and into the beautiful possibility of spring.

Oxygenetix and Celebrity Aesthetician Erika James

Touted by the Kardashians (they order it by the caseload) and countless other high-profile peeps, the Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation is a true makeup sensation. The lightweight, yet build-able formula encourages skin to breath while it heals and protects. Made with an aloe vera base that soothes while it prevents build-up of bacteria, the finish is soft, luminous and blends seamlessly into skin for a second-skin look and feel.

Hosted at Avant Aesthetics in Beverly Hills, guests sipped purified water from glass vessels and nibbled on hand-prepared charcuterie, macaroons, and chocolate covered pretzels before a private mini-facial and makeover.

With over two decades experience and clientele list that includes a stint as Madonna’s “in-house” facialist for four years, Erika Janes is one of the most sought after aestheticians in the country. A noted skin rejuvenation expert, James treated each guest to a mini-facial featuring her favorite products augmented by the latest technology in LED light therapy to revive skin and encourage collagen production and cellular turnover. James shared her beauty secrets while her hands offered a relaxing face and foot massage.

After the facial (which are always over too quickly), guests received a foundation match and application from Oxygenetix. Single by Galina Sobelov gifted colorful kimonos and beach cover-ups before guests exited with a generous gift bag of product from Oxygentix, Valmont, and ReveSkin. Plus, a glowing complexion and expertly applied foundation and concealer.
