“Wake Up with Marci” Host, Marci Hopkins named the Millennium Award Recipient at “CORE Women’s Network” annual PINK Event

It was a magical night at “Island Waterpark at the Showboat” in Atlantic City where 150 women gathered for the exclusive networking event hosted by “CORE Women’s Network” where women cultivated new relationships, rekindled friendships, and gathered to learn from an esteemed panel of speakers sharing their journey of being female entrepreneurs.

Millennium Magazine gave a special tribute with ‘The Millennium Award’ which recognizes an exceptional professional who displays outstanding leadership, exemplifies vision, passion and integrity in their industry.

I had the honor of presenting the award this year to Marci Hopkins, host of the talk show “Wake Up with Marci” and author of “Chaos to Clarity.”  Hopkins is a woman who has overcome personal challenges, looks to give back to the world, and inspires others through her feel good programming that is almost non-existent in today’s media.

Hopkins best explains that her show is “a talk show with heart about inspiring and giving others hope through stories of transformation that go through real life issues to inspire others to know that they too can get through whatever life throws at them.”

Expert guests on wellness, self-improvement, and issues that women face are regular topics on the show.  Hopkins adds, “we just need a safe place, a platform we can go to hear these types of stories.”

Living alcohol-free has been a positive growing trend today and Hopkins was ahead of the curve.  A very personal journey Hopkins shared is through her book “Chaos to Clarity, Seeing the Signs and Breaking the Cycles.”  October of this year will mark Hopkins’ nine years of sobriety.  She explains that through her healing journey by making the decision to stop drinking alcohol and putting in the self work, guided Hopkins to also become more spiritually fit.

“Because my book is about my trauma that I went through, I think that we all can relate in some way with our stories of some sort of trauma, some worse than others. This is what has shaped us, and back then I coped by drinking alcohol,” Hopkins shared.

Hopkins adds that men too have also related to her stories, her experiences. Overall, Hopkins looks to help people in recovery. “But anybody can get something from my book because it truly is about retraining your brain, breaking generational cycles, moving on from your trauma, and finding your mission and passion and life, how to do that and live in peace and joy. And that’s what I’m living in now, so I know it’s possible.”

On May 16th, you can have the opportunity to meet Hopkins in person at the King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania in support of the Farmlink Project, connecting farmers to those facing food insecurity. Hopkins will be onsite at “Kendra Scott” signing her book.  She will be there from 12:00PM – 2:00PM.  In addition, “Kendra Scott” is donating 20% of all purchases to support the Farmlink Project.

Hopkins concludes, “ I just want people to know that their past does not define who they are. That a beautiful, abundant life is available to them. That we all have our own gifts, our purpose in this world. And to just remember that you are worthy of it. Take action and don’t quit.”

You can watch “Wake Up with Marci” on Saturdays at 10:00AM EST on WLNY-TV and Hulu Live.  You can also find up to date scheduling and events on her Instagram @wake_up_with_marci and personal inspiration @hostmarcihopkins.
